RIP, I lost my beloved buddy to doggie cancer in August.

Mechelle Abney: Currently, I serve a fast growing school district as a literacy coordinator. I serve students and support teachers in reading and writing instruction, grades PreK-5. I also support 18 outstanding literacy coaches! Previously, I served as a faculty member at the Center for Reading Recovery and Literacy Collaborative at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I provide professional development for literacy coaches, administrators, educators, and school teams around the nation and abroad. I also had the wonderful opportunity to work overseas with the Department of Defense when I began my teaching career. I have over 30 years of experience in the field of education.
